Invite: SAYFA AGM

Are you a positive young South African between the ages of 18-35, who is passionate about our country and wants to contribute to the community of Saffas living in the UK? If so, then bring your ideas and join us for the SAYFA AGM on the 26 September 2009.


The purpose of the AGM is as follows:
1.  To review the organisation’s performance since the last AGM
2.  To elect a new Executive Committee
3.  To propose any resolutions/amendments to the organisation’s Constitution.


The event will take place from 12:00-16:30pm on 26 September 2009 at The Bedford (77 Bedford Hill, Balham, SW12 9HD)


Nominating a new member to the SAYFA Executive Committee
At the AGM a new Executive Committee will be elected. The following positions for officers of SAYFA are now open for nominations:


• Chairperson
• General Secretary
• Treasurer
• Public Relations Officer
• Liaison and Organisational Officer
• Education and Student Affairs Officer
• Information and Technology, Media Officer

To nominate a candidate for election to the Executive Committee please download the SAYFA Executive Committee Nomination form and submit the completed form to SAYFA before the 21 September 2009.


Closing date for nominations: 21 September 2009
Candidates notified: 23 September 2009
Candidates given right to withdraw: 25 September 2009


Proposing resolutions or amendments to the SAYFA Constitution
At the AGM it will be possible to propose resolutions, or amendments to the SAYFA_Constitution

If you would like to propose a resolution or amendment to the SAYFA Constitution please complete SAYFA Constitution Amendment Form and submit the proposal before the 23 September 2009 in order that they can be circulated to the membership for consideration before the meeting takes place.

Getting to The Bedford:
For more details on the venue please visit http://www.thebedford.co.uk/. It’s 2 min from Balham Station. Balham is on the Northern Line with frequent trains to central London via the Bank and Charring Cross branches. Typical travel time to Waterloo is 15/20 minutes. Via the overground South West Trains is responsible for Balham station with a frequent service to Victoria (Central London), Clapham Junction, Gatwick and Croydon.
